Four Star Private Chefs is owned and operated by chef Susan Flynn. In 1996, after 17 years in the restaurant business, Susan began a second career as a private chef for a Silicon Valley executive families.

As a private chef, Susan continued to do what she loved to do, apart from the long hours and fickle nature of the restaurant business. In fact, Susan believes that she became a better chef, as the demand for variety and flexibility in this new career led her to experiment with new recipes and techniques.

In 1997, as friends and dinner guests frequently asked them for referrals, Susan founded Four Star Private Chefs.

Word quickly spread and Four Star Private Chefs became the most well recognized and respected chef-placement firm in the Bay Area, by both clients and chefs alike, for their understanding, integrity and ongoing support.


Having enjoyed great success in the San Francisco Bay Area, Four Star Private Chefs opened a Seattle, Washington satellite office in June 2000. We are pleased to offer our complete services to the busy families of the Pacific Northwest, and have established a local network of professional candidates for full and part-time private chef positions, one-time catering and special event staffing, and short term placements.
